A chokecherry tree with red leaves beside an aspen poplar with mostly green leaves. Photo taken in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in early autumn. The chokecherry while somewhat sweet and edible produces a choking sensation in the throat when eaten in large quantites. They make good jelly.
